The Union Public Service Commission has started applications for admission to the Army, Navy, and Air Force wings of the NDA for the 150th Course, and for the 112th Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC) commencing from 2nd July 2023.

Each year UPSC conducts the National Defence Academy (NDA) & Naval Academy (NA) Examination twice for students who have completed their Class 12 or would complete their Class 12 in that year. 

NDA-Exam-II shall be held on the 04th September (Sunday) across multiple cities in pen & paper mode.

Intake:
- NDA: Total 370 seats of which
- Army: 208 seats (incl 10 female candidates)
- Air Force: 120 seats (Flying 92 incl 02 female; 18 Ground Duties-Tech incl 02 female); 10 Ground Duties non-Tech incl 02 female);
- Navy: 42 seats (incl 03 female candidates)

-  Naval Academy (B.Tech under 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme): 30 seats (male candidates only)
Total: 400 seats

Selection is through 2 stages:
Stage-1: Written Exam (NDA & NA) conducted by the UPSC
Stage-2: SSB Test & Interview

The selected candidates for the three services viz, Army, Navy and Air Force are given preliminary training both academic and physical for a period of 3 years at the National Defence Academy which is an Inter-Service Institution. The training during the first two and half years is common to the cadets of three wings. After completing 3 years at NDA, Army cadets go to the Indian Military Academy (IMA) Dehradun, Naval candidates go to the Naval Academy, and Air Force cadets (flying & ground duty non-tech) to Air Force academy Hyderabad and Air Force cadets (ground duty tech) to Air Force Technical College Bengaluru. 

The selected candidates for the Naval Academy under 10+2 scheme will undergo a 4-Year engineering program at the Naval Academy in Ezhimala (Kerala) for a period of 4-years.

The last date to apply is 07th June 2022 (by 6:00PM).
Date of NDA-II exam is 04th September 2022.
